MOMENTUM: a project on "Modelling Emerging Transport Solutions for Urban Mobility"

Disruptive technologies and emerging mobility solutions are bringing radical changes to urban mobility. Cities need new tools and methods to capture the impact of new transport options on the urban mobility ecosystem.

The MOMENTUM project, started in 2019, will try to fill this gap by developing new data analysis methods, transport models and planning support tools.

Working in close cooperation with cities, knowledge partners and other experienced stakeholders, MOMENTUM will support cities in the task of designing the right policy mix to exploit the full potential of emerging mobility solutions.

MOMENTUM will focus particularly on Mobility as a Service, connected and autonomous vehicles, shared mobility services and demand-responsive transport. The tools and concepts developed within the project will be tested in the cities of Thessaloniki, Regensburg, Madrid and Leuven.

You can learn more about MOMENTUM on the project website, or at the CIVITAS Forum 2019 (Graz, 2-4 October 2019), where it will hold a take-up and transfer session titled: “New Mobility Services and Disruptive Technologies: Policy Questions for the Next Decades”.
