Webinar - The future of mobility in cities: designing policy response to mobility innovations

On 8 October, GECKO will feature together with the project SPROUT in a joint webinar organised by Polis.

In the context of the series organised by Polis “Mobilising mobility: Turning European research into local action”, GECKO will feature together with the SPROUT project in a joint webinar taking place on Thursday 8 October 2020, from 14.00 to 15.00 CEST.

How do cities imagine the evolution of their mobility environment in ten or twenty years? What are the main innovations that are changing the landscape of urban transport services for both passengers and goods?

The design and implementation of effective urban mobility policies and regulations is key to harness opportunities and mitigate negative impacts resulting from the changing urban mobility environment.

Speakers from the GECKO and the SPROUT projects will discuss how the co-creation of city-specific future urban mobility scenarios and the involvement of stakeholders in this discussion contributes to understanding the current transition in urban mobility and to foreseeing its impacts. The aim of these practices is the design of regulation and governance models that can make mobility innovation work for the benefit of all.

Speakers lineup:

  • Maria Teresa de la Cruz (Zaragoza Logistics Centre)
  • Sara Tori (Vrije Universiteit Brussel)
  • Ping-Jen Kao (University College London)
  • Caroline Busquet (Absiskey)

The webinar will be moderated by Pedro Homem de Gouveia (Polis).
